Case 1 - the boy who ran away and changed his name
The subject of this search was a man known to his descendants as John Cairns Townsend, (referred to here as JCT). He had 2 daughters (both now deceased), 8 living grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and (so far) 22 great-greats. All those still alive were born after his death in 1926. They would all like to know JCT's secret - why he changed his name.
