Autogiro Boats - Future

At the end of the meeting on December 5th, Simon Fishwick suggested that I should make a model for the AYRS Boat Show stand. So I spent the next 3 weeks putting together the following model:

Fido in my indoor test tank, as a coned autogiro, Christmas 1995

Fido in the Park as a conventional autogiro boat

Fido falling over in a configuration that did not work

Fido on the AYRS Boat Show Stand at Earl's Court, London, January 1996.

I intend to do a lot more research on this theme later. Watch this space for further reports. I may even write up the theory properly in HTML (with equations) and add that here also.

A movie clip of the Brabazon boat in action may be added to this page if/when there is space available for it.
